Group Activities

Find below a list of activities we are planning for the week leading up to the wedding. 
Additionally we have a list of other activities people may want to take advantage of while in South Africa.

Safari

Aquila Private Game Reserve and Spa is a four star family friendly safari destination. Home to the majestic Big 5 legends: elephant, lion, buffalo, leopard, and rhino.

  • 07h00 – 1-1,5hr Game Drive

  • 08h30 – 10h00 - Buffet Breakfast

Catamaran Champagne Sunset Cruise

90min Catamaran Champagne Sunset Cruise from the V&A Waterfront Cape Town. 

We are planning to meet at the Waterfront around 6PM, otherwise feel free to plan to go on a time that suits you.

Lions Head Hike

The hike up Lions Head takes approximately 90 minutes (5.5km trail) at a moderate pace.  

 

This hike has been a popular tradition especially during the full moon, and has some amazing views.


We are planning to meet later in the afternoon to avoid the midday heat. Be sure to bring water and sun cream. For those who want to join please reach out to us.

Wine and Cheese

Franschhoek Wine Tram

A day experience, join a hop-on-hop-off tram tour of the different local wine vineyards around Franschhoek.

Kirstenbosch Coffee & Walk

Kirstenbosch National Botanical Garden is acclaimed as one of the great botanical gardens of the world.  
 

Join around 11:00am to grab a coffee and go on one of the many walks around the garden.

Afterwards there are is a nice restaurant for those looking to stay on for something to eat.

We have listed a range of additional activities people may want to include into their holiday planning as part of the trip. These are some activities we recommend for those looking to do a few extra things while in the area, especially those traveling from abroad.

Table Mountain is a prominent landmark overlooking Cape Town. It is a significant tourist attraction, with many visitors using the cableway or hiking to the top.

Whale Research

Hermanus a lovely coastal area of South Africa about a 90-minute drive from Cape Town and is hailed as offering the best land based whale watching in the world. 

Scenery

Chapman’s Peak Drive toll road winds its way between Noordhoek and Hout Bay on the Atlantic Coast and is one of the most spectacular marine drives in the world.

Lionesses

One of the most popular game reserves in the Southern Cape. Experience an authentic Cape safari in a unique Cape floristic setting.

Riders on the Beach

Ever wanted to go horse riding on the beach?  This dream experience is available just down the road from Noordhoek. 

Blue Waters Kayak

River Rafting, Kayaking 

Plenty of places around Cape Town offer great Kayaking, river rafting and canoeing. 
We can recommend Sea Kayaking from The Three Anchor Bay Beach where we saw dolphins.

Another popular day trip/overnight safari option closer to Cape Town.

Cape Town has a range of companies offering cage diving and viewing experiences, for those brave enough.

There is cape towns famous Table Mountain Bungee Jumping from specific cable cars for the adventurous. 

African Penguins

Boulders Beach is a great spot for viewing the penguins, there are three boardwalks that make their way through the dunes Foxy Beach.

Castle in Island

Robben Island, famous for the place where Nelson Mandela was imprisoned for 18 of the 27 years, boat tours depart from the V&A Waterfront
